Use this FAQ for the exam, not for a personal immigration decision

The answers below summarise the civic-exam format and preparation routes. They do not decide whether an individual is eligible for naturalisation or a residence permit, whether an exception applies, or which documents a prefecture will request. For those questions, use the Ministry of the Interior, Service-Public and the authority handling your case.

Why do the routes have separate pages?

Naturalisation, CSP and CR share the 40-question, 45-minute, 32/40 framework, but their official preparation material and route details are not identical. CSP and CR sources explicitly describe a 28-knowledge + 12-situational split; the naturalisation page confirms both question types without the same published numerical split. Keeping the tracks separate prevents us from turning one route's rule into a false universal rule.

Are the questions on Citizenship Test Hub official?

Most scored questions on the practice engine are original preparation questions. When an authority has published a knowledge prompt, we identify it as officially published and link the source. We do not describe reconstructed, predicted or scenario practice as leaked official content.

How often should I use mock exams?

Use them after you have studied the underlying topics. One full mock every study session can become inefficient if you never investigate the mistakes. Alternate full mocks with targeted review of weak themes, saved questions and official-source reading.

What should I verify shortly before the exam?

Re-check the official rules, your appointment details, any instructions from the approved test provider, and the source pages for your specific route. Citizenship and residence procedures can change, so a verification date is more useful than assuming an old guide remains current forever.
